Juicy J returns with his highly anticipated fourth studio album, Rubba Band Business. The Memphis native enlists Wiz Khalifa, A$AP Rocky, Denzel Curry, Offset, Travis Scott, Tory Lanez, Belly, Ty Dolla $ign and more for cameo appearances. The project comes on the heels of his Highly Intoxicated mixtape, which held fans over with a plethora of vintage tracks from the 42-year-old hip-hop veteran.
Speaking to XXL about the LP earlier in 2017, the Taylor Gang artist said, “So whatever you like with Three 6 Mafia, it’s just a mixture of old Three 6 Mafia with Lex Luger beats, Metro Boomin beats, with Murda beatz,” Juicy continued. “It’s a mixture of all that, you know what I’m saying, and boom, that’s what it is. It’s like a mixture of the old and the new.” Crisp production meshes well within the 13-track album, and between piano-laden “Flood Watch” and the uptempo “No English,” Juicy’s ear for diverse beats cannot be questioned.
The Three 6 Mafia co-founder declared Rubba Band Business a classic during his interview with XXL: “That’s all I’m [going to] say, it’s classic. It sounds like Highly Intoxicated. The vibe of it is like Highly Intoxicated. It’s classic, though.”
Juicy isn’t done with 2017 just yet, as he’s scheduled to drop his third mixtape of the year taking aim at his haters on December 15. The upcoming project will be exclusively produced by the Suicideboys and aggressively titled Shut the Fuck Up.
