When death hits, many are left searching for answers. For his latest visual, which released on Thursday (May 2), Joyner Lucas heads to church to plead with a higher power as to why he’s taken so many legends from our society, but has decided to leave us with those that have lived a life of crime or individuals Lucas simply believes aren’t worthy of life.
While walking around the religious establishment holding a bible and bottle of Hennessy in hand, the Massachusetts native pays tribute to those lost such as Nipsey Hussle, XXXTentacion, Tupac, Biggie Smalls, Eazy-E, Aaliyah, Trayvon Martin, Whitney Houston and Michael Jackson.
On the flip side, the 30-year-old is willing to trade a bunch of people still breathing air on earth to bring back some of the previously mentioned souls to life. “Send them suckers straight to hell, they don’t need a vigil,” he raps regarding Donald Trump, R. Kelly, Martin Shkreli, Laura Ingraham, Eric Holder, Suge Knight, and Tomi Lahren.
The visual immediately struck a chord with viewers, as the viral clip even drew praise from Rihanna on Thursday (May 2). “Just In case y’all missed this moment for the culture from da homie @joynerlucas,” she tweeted.
