Up-and-coming lyricist Joyner Lucas joined forces with Chris Brown for their latest up-tempo banger “Stranger Things.” Contrary to the song’s title, the visual, which was released on Feb. 25 doesn’t actually have much to do with the Netflix smash show Stranger Things — instead, we get to see Lucas and Brown working as pest control men avoiding their day jobs.
The clip opens up in a sunny neighborhood, as the two artists hide up in a truck labeled “Joyner & Brown’s Pest Control.” The truck jerks violently which causes two policemen to come over and inspect due to a complaint from a neighbor. Brown and Lucas cruise around in the truck, rocking their pest control jumpsuits and proceed to pick up a few lovely women before having throwing what looks a party in the back of the vehicle.
Lucas shows off his lyrical prowess yet again in the song, dropping blistering fast raps as Brown shows off a bit of lyrical ability as well, following suit with a few melodic flows of his own. The video caps off with the pair delivering a bit of comedy, as the policemen locate our rapping protagonists, one of the cops gets overjoyed at the fact of seeing Chris Brown, but much to Joyner’s dismay, doesn’t recognize the MC.
“Stranger Things” is the first song from Lucas and Brown’s forthcoming joint project, Angels & Demons, which both stars teased on social media in January. A release date for the full project has yet to be revealed.
