Eminem rolled out “Chloraseptic (Remix)” featuring 2 Chainz earlier this week as a response to the criticism his latest album Revival garnered. Eminem called out no one in particular on the song, but many speculated one of Em’s targets was his former Slaughterhouse member Joe Budden, who had some harsh words for Em’s Revival cut “Untouchable.”
However, during a recent episode of his namesake podcast, Budden said that despite what fans may believe, he doesn’t think Eminem was dissing him.
“Why do people think he’s talking about me?” Budden asked at the beginning of his podcast. Budden’s co-hosts defended him and admitted that they’ve never heard of him bashing Eminem’s album. The rapper says he hasn’t heard Revival in its entirety because he wants to “dig in” and “see if the music hits the way you intended it to hit not at the time that you intended it to hit.”
He continued: “I couldn’t have trashed the album I never heard, and I was the lone person defending the track list so much so that n—as said, ‘Oh, Joe, you d–k riding man, you biased, you won’t say nothing.'”
Budden may not think Em’s verse was aimed at him, but D12 rapper Bizarre did and called Budden out on social media following the release of the song. “Never Bite the hand that feed you… I never like u any way chump,” Bizarre wrote on Instagram. 50 Cent joined in and posted a photo of Budden with the caption, “That was a bad idea, look you got a little ass whopping coming. It’s not a big deal, you will get over it.”
