1990s R&B all-stars Jodeci, who broke up in 1996, have returned with a new song titled “Nobody Wins” that’s the group’s first in 18 years.
The track is suave new jam about domestic abuse featuring vocals by B.o.B., showing off lush harmonies and expansive production, rolling between rap verses to throw-your-hands-up choruses.
The quartet that includes the duo K-Ci & JoJo reunited at the Soul Train Awards earlier this year to sing a medley of classics and debuted a snippet of “Nobody Wins” then. Now the song is out in its five-minute full-length form with an accompanying lyric video that blends news clips and original footage detailing the struggles of dealing with domestic violence.
According to Stereogum, it’s the just the first song off a new album that will feature production from group member DeVante Swing’s onetime protege Timbaland.
