Future graced the stage of Jimmy Kimmel Live on Monday night (June 12) with a mellowed-out rendition of “Nowhere,” one of his many soundtrack contribution to the forthcoming crime drama reboot SuperFly, and the rapper’s performance perfectly fit the film’s title.
While Future remained in place throughout the song, the visual dazzle came in the form of stacked TV screens displaying scenes from the film, a reimagination of the classic 1972 blackploitation crime drama . Future rapped as he was illuminated by blue multidirectional lasers, while the floor was hidden under a layer of ominous fog. The rapper dressed the part, characteristically donning a heavy collection of bling from his neck, wrists and fingers, while his head remained mostly undercover thanks to an oversized hoodie and sunglasses.
It’s been over a year since Future released his last full length, HNDRXX, but he’s been busy curating the star-studded SuperFly soundtrack, which also features Khalid, Miguel, Lil Wayne and Young Thug. The film hits theaters on Wednesday (June 13).
