Production legends James “Jimmy Jam” Harris & Terry Lewis come full circle with the release today (April 12) of their new single “Til I Found You.” The inspirational song features the Grammy award-winning group Sounds of Blackness—the first act signed to the pair’s original Perspective Records label in 1991.
Sporting lead vocals by Sounds of Blackness members Ann Nesby, James “Big Jim” Wright, who passed away last year, and Lauren Evans, the mid-tempo “Til I Found You” is the first single from Jam & Lewis: VOLUME ONE. The summer-slated set represents the pair’s first-ever compilation album. Comprised of all new music from superstar acts (to be revealed in the coming weeks), the album will be released through Perspective. The label was relaunched last summer via Peabo Bryson’s Jam & Lewis-produced Stand for Love.
In announcing the new single and album, Jam said, “Sounds of Blackness will always hold a special place in our hearts because they were the first act we signed to our original record label. We felt it was only right for this single with them to introduce our compilation album.”
“It felt great to be back in the studio with Sounds of Blackness and create new music we’re really proud of,” added Lewis. “The track definitely sets the tone for the album. We can’t wait for our fans to hear what’s next.”

Five-time Grammy award-winning producers Jam & Lewis have crafted a diverse catalog that includes more than 100 gold, platinum, multi-platinum and diamond albums through their collaborations with acts such as Janet Jackson, Michael Jackson, Kanye West, Boyz II Men, Usher, Gwen Stefani and Earth, Wind & Fire. In addition to working with Bryson last year, the production team curated the 10-day Super Bowl Live music festival in their hometown of Minneapolis. Highlighting a different genre each night, the 2018 festival featured Rae Sremmurd, The Jets, KING and Idina Menzel, among others.
