As the Atlanta Falcons look to avenge last season’s catastrophic Super Bowl meltdown, they will have a little more motivation this time around. ATL’s own Jermaine Dupri teamed up with the Falcons to pump up the city with the anthemic “Welcome to Atlanta” remix. The video to the galvanizing record was actually shot above the Mercedez-Benz Stadium rooftop.
Dupri provides the soundtrack to the Dirty Birds revenge tour, while referencing their popular “Rise Up” phrase throughout the track. The 45-year-old preached a motto of brotherhood, rapping, “A history of adversity, we’ve felt pain/ But through necessity, unity came/ And in Brotherhood, we remain.”
The underdog Falcons begin their playoff journey Saturday (Jan. 6) night in Los Angeles with a showdown against the high-flying Rams, as the second scheduled game in the Wildcard round double-header. Kickoff is expected just after 8:15 p.m. ET on NBC. Make sure not to turn the channel during halftime, as Snoop Dogg has been tabbed for a performance during the intermission.
