Add Janet Jackson to the list of celebrities that are planning to help the victims of Hurricane Harvey. While at rehearsals on Wednesday night in Louisiana (Sept. 6), Jackson revealed her plans to continue on with her show in Houston later his week.
“Hey you guys, I’m backstage in Louisiana and I’m at rehearsal about to kick off my tour and our next show is in Houston,” she began Twitter video. “I know there’s been rumors on whether we were gonna do the show in Houston or we weren’t going to do the show in Houston. I’m here to tell you that we’re going to do the show in Houston.”
Then, the “All for You” singer said she would also have something “special” planned for the Houston residents who were affected by the torturous hurricane. “We’re gonna roll in early ’cause we want to visit some of the shelters and not just visit some of the shelters, we want to do something special for the victims. So I will see you Friday.”
A plethora of celebrities including Drake and Kevin Hart have donated thousands of dollars to the state of Texas. According to NBCNews, 779,000 Texans were subjected to mandatory evacuations, while 200,000 homes remain without power. As the devastation of Harvey continues to leave the country in a gloomy state, Hurricane Irma is plotting its way towards the United States. The category five hurricane has already bulldozed its way through the Caribbean, most notably St. Martin and Barbuda and is eying to land in Florida this weekend.
