J. Cole celebrated his 29th birthday in a big way. Yesterday (Jan. 29), J. Cole took to Twitter to announce the launch of his label, Dreamville, in partnership with Interscope Records.

Cole followed up the announcement with the release of his new mixtape, “The Revenge of the Dreamers.” The 11-track effort features Dreamville artists, and friends: KQuick, Bas and Omen.
The rapper’s night only got more special. During his What Dreams May Come show, in New York City, Jay Z took the stage to perform “P.S.A. (Public Service Announcement).” Before Jay closed his surprise set with “FuckWithMeYouKnowIGotIt,” he gifted Cole with his Roc-A-Fella chain: “That on your neck is my original Roc chain, and it’s yours.”
As Cole finished rapping his “Born Sinner” hit, “Forbidden Fruit,” the song’s guest Kendrick Lamar jumped on stage. He surprised fans with a short “good kid, m.A.A.d city” set, performing “m.A.A.d city” and “Beackseat Freestyle.” Kendrick also shared some kinds words about his friendship with Cole (according to MissInfo.tv): “I just want people to know how much of an inspiring artist this man is to me. He’s one of the first people who welcomed me with open arms. This ain’t no rap friendship or nothing. He taught me just to laugh.”
