
President Barack Obama has requested J. Cole‘s presence for a special performance at his Democratic National Committee fundraiser next month at SXSW.
Cole’s longtime friend and chief of the rapper’s Dreamville Records label, Ibraham “Ib” Hamad, shared the flier on his Instagram (Feb. 24) with the caption, “When the President asks…”

Hosted by Honest Dollar CEO whurley and Black Eyed Peas rapper/ producer will.i.am, the reception will take place on Friday, March 11 in Texas at the Austin Music Hall. Cole will also be performing during a Dreamville takeover for SXSW on Saturday, March 21 alongside his signees Bas, Cozz and Omen at ACL Live at the Moody Theater.
