Cole calls out Justin Timberlake, Eminem, Macklemore and Iggy Azalea: “History repeats itself and that’s just how it goes/ Same way that these rappers always bite each other’s flows/ Same thing that my n—a Elvis did with rock and roll/ Justin Timberlake, Eminem and then Macklemore.”
“While silly n—as argue over who gon’ snatch the crown/ Look around, my n—a, white people have snatched the sound/ This year I’ll probably go to the awards dapper down/ Watch Iggy win a Grammy as I try to crack a smile,” he continues. “I’m just playing, but all good jokes contain true shit.”
Weeks before the album’s Dec. 9 release, J. Cole has been traveling to fans’ houses to suprirse them with a one-on-one listening of 2014 Forest Hills Drive.
