Rumors have been floating for some time over whether Iggy Azalea writes her own rhymes, but most recently largely were written off as means to dismiss the Aussie rapper’s phenomenal rise to success. Now an Inglewood rapper named Skeme has stated he’s the one who wrote some of her most famous parts.
Talking to Sirius XM’s Sway In The Morning, Skeme was hesitant to discuss any of his ghostwriting, but the host kept pushing him as fellow-guest DJ Drama helped to fuel the conversation with mentions Skeme had been Grammy-nominated and earned a Billboard certificate for his work.

Skeme dodged questions to name names initially, saying, “That’s what the ghost’s about.”
“I’ve got a certificate and a nice ass suit and like four or five plaques,” he said, trying to keep it vague.
But finally he broke when Sway kept pushing and finally came out and asked if he wrote Azalea’s verses on “Fancy.”
“We had something to do with it, a lot of vibe, a lot of push” Skeme said. “We put trust funds up for that song.”

Last summer, it was rumored T.I. had written Azalea’s rhymes. But her mentor put an end to that, saying, “Iggy got her own ideas and thoughts that she presents to the world in her own way.” (Coincidentally, Skeme and T.I. did collaborate on the track “Look What I Did” around the same time last year.)
It was thought also that Nicki Minaj was throwing shade at Azalea with her BET Awards Best Female Hip-Hop Artist acceptance speech, saying, “What I want the world to know about Nicki Minaj is when you hear Nicki Minaj spit, Nicki Minaj wrote it.” She later denied this was in reference to Azalea.
