Last year wasn’t the easiest one for Australian rapper Iggy Azalea. The artist endured numerous setbacks, including an announcement of a tentative drop date (Jun. 30) for her sophomore album Digital Distortion, only to have it scrapped. The album also reportedly leaked in June last year, amid a frustrated tirade of Snapchats and Tweets from Iggy Iggs.
With the past in the rear view mirror however, Azalea looks to be jumping into 2018 with a kick start. The “Team” rapper announced a new single, “Savior,” on Tuesday (Jan. 9) featuring the red-hot Quavo of Migos. At a conference for Monster Products, the Aussie rapper announced she will be debuting the new single in a Super Bowl Commercial for Monster. In a clip on Twitter of the press conference, Azalea gave the new tune a release date, saying it will drop “around February 1st.”
In a reply to a fan on Twitter on Nov. 7, Iggy let the world know that the album would be renamed Surviving The Summer. She also gave long-waiting fans a taste of what is to come, dropping four tracks, all produced by Ljay Currie.
