Back in March, Kanye West added another Chicago talent to his G.O.O.D. Music roster in the form of hip-hop artist HXLT, who also has gone by Hollywood Holt and Holt. Today, the rising MC drops off his first original recording — after dropping a few remixes — since joining the label, called “Live To Death.”
The song, complete with a video, is the first track off his forthcoming debut LP for G.O.O.D./Def Jam. And while Kanye’s label boasts rappers like Pusha T, Big Sean and Q-Tip, the album is not expected to be a pure rap project; Holt’s manager told Billboard at the time of his signing that “it’s like if Joy Division, The Strokes and Dr. Dre made an album.”
