After ghosting on the rap game last year, a comeback has been on the horizon for Hopsin. In order to punctuate his recent efforts, he joined independent powerhouse, 300 Entertainment, to release his forthcoming album, No Shame.
Slated for a Nov. 24 release date, Hopsin has already unwrapped his first few singles in “The Purge” and “Happy Ending.” “I am very excited at the fact that I partnered up with 300,” Hopsin tells Billboard. “They are doing an amazing job at helping me expand my career. My album, No Shame, will give my fans an extremely real and heartfelt experience of what I have been going through in my personal life.”
300 Entertainment’s co-founder/CEO, Kevin Liles, gushed at his recent acquisition in a statement to Billboard. “We’re excited to have Hopsin join us at 300, says Liles. “He set the blueprint for independent artists today and as an independent company, we find him to be a great partner.”
In addition to his newly-minted deal, Hopsin premieres his video, “Witch Doctor,” which will also reside on his upcoming effort. With a baby monkey cradled around his neck, Hopsin dashes through the hypnotic beat his rapid-fire flow. “I’m the dirty scoundrel living life on the down low/ I’ve been in hell and sat with the man of the household/ my heart froze, but you don’t wanna know how cold/ I feel like the one, but I’m not the one you should count on,” he raps.
