Incarceration won’t keep Gucci Mane from flourishing. The Atlanta rapper — who has been locked up since 2013 for two felony counts of possessing a firearm — has been supplying timelines with a steady stream of music while behind bars, including his latest offering “1 Foot Forward.”
Gooch also shared a photo on Instagram (Dec. 8), teasing a potential release date. While offering his booker’s contact info, he (or rather, his social media team) wrote, “For Shows & Booking contact@melanzh !!! I get out sooner than later hurry n catch the wave.”
Guwop has maintained a strong online presence with an onslaught of bars despite his situation. This past year, he let loose a string of projects including his album Breakfast, Lunch & Dinner, Dessert EP, and Trap House 5 mixtape. He also dropped collaborations with Snoop Dogg on “Parking Lot” as well as the Jadakiss and Fetty Wap-assisted “Young N—-.” Mane even announced a joint project with Diplo.
In May, he penned a lengthy letter to his fans on the 10th anniversary of his 2005 Traphouse album, reflecting on his present struggles. “Every challenge and obstacle in my life has helped me to become who I am today and provided me with the tests to display my resilience,” the letter read. “I hope my life showed someone somewhere that if you endure the storm you will eventually get your chance to shine.”
