Gucci Mane‘s September album release date may have been pushed back, but that only means Woptober season is in full swing. After dropping off The Weeknd-assisted “Curve” earlier this week, Guwop’s Mr. Davis iTunes link revealed that the project will now arrive on Oct. 13, just days before the premiere of the rapper’s wedding special, Gucci Mane & Keyshia Ka’oir: The Main Event, airs on BET.
Despite his now-delayed album, Gucci has the release of his upcoming book, The Autobiography of Gucci Mane, to look forward to. He recently met his “favorite” author Malcolm Gladwell, who interviewed the rapper during an intimate event hosted at Manhattan’s YouTube space earlier this week. There, the rapper discussed how he remains a relevant figure in hip-hop.
“I just keep making myself accessible to the youth; the new artists, the new producers, the new DJs, the new sound. I’m just curious,” he tells Gladwell. “I want to find something good and I’m always willing to collaborate and I feel like that keeps me on my toes. It pushes me.”
Billboard has reached out to Gucci Mane’s rep for comment.
