After presenting the night’s first televised trophy for best rap album at the 58th annual Grammy Awards with his son (and Straight Outta Compton star) O’Shea Jackson Jr. on Monday night (Feb. 15), Ice Cube dipped out of Los Angeles’ Staples Center and Snapchatted his escape.
“If any of y’all thought I was gonna stay through that three-hour bullshit, you out your batty ass mind,” he told the camera before taking a puff. “I’m back in the car bitch.”
Before Cube’s departure, he handed a Grammy to Kendrick Lamar, who took home five awards for his album To Pimp a Butterfly and the “Bad Blood” video with Taylor Swift. Lamar also delivered one of the best performances of the night with fiery renditions of “The Blacker The Berry,” “Alright” and an untitled freestyle.
Cube wasn’t the only one to criticize the Grammys. Snoop Dogg shared an Instagram video before the show where he says, “I got seats to the Grammys, but fuck that. I’m sitting in my mothafuckin’ house watching this shit. Me and my nigga.”
