Back in June, GoldLink teamed up with Miguel for the melodic “Got Friends,” which was accompanied with a tuneful NPR Tiny Desk concert days later. The creative pair returned to surprise-release the supernatural “Got Friends” visual in the form of a five-minute short film on Tuesday (Sept. 25).
The Christian Sutton-directed clip is sure to leave viewers puzzled with the twists and turns weaved inside of GoldLink and Miguel’s smooth vocal range. A local late-night diner is at the center of attention to kick the story line off, with Miguel and company at a distance debating how they are going to finagle their way into joining the women for the rest of the night.
After ditching the guys even though they paid for their meal, the squad of girls head out to enjoy a night on the town. Things get spooky just when they reach their destination. A werewolf scarily pops up out of nowhere, taking one of the women out. Miguel is then seen floating through the sky in a mythical fashion with another possible love interest by his side in midair.
