After firing off his eponymous fifth official studio effort, Future announced that a second album would drop, titled HNDRXX, a nod to his alter-ego Future Hendrix.
In a follow-up interview with Beats 1’s Zane Lowe, the Atlanta rapper went deep about the honesty in his upcoming album, specifically with a track called “My Collection.” “It might get more attention than I might want it to get,” he said of the Metro Boomin-produced track.
“Man, it’s a special time for me and music,” he added. “I’m glad I got a chance to wait and put everything out. And the way we did it, the way we set it up and me being able to give them the second part to Future, which is Future HNDRXX, is spectacular. I’m excited for the fans.”
He also feels like the project will be a diary of his life. “I believe HNDRXX is more personal,” he said, before referencing his 2014 sophomore effort. “When it was time to have the Honest album I was just using it as a title, instead of being actually honest in the music. This is it. This is me opening up and letting it all out so I can just move past it and certain things don’t have to speak on it again.”
