French Montana‘s glossy street rhymes are ubiquitous across the hip hop industry, and he’s scored hit collaborations with the likes of Rick Ross and Drake. The rapper’s forthcoming album Mac & Cheese 4 (MC4) was slated to be released on Oct. 14, but he recently revealed to Complex that the project has been scrapped all together, due to clearance issues.
Explaining the cause for MC4‘s delay, Montana confessed: “I just ain’t have the same feeling for it. Everybody had to replay shit, and do all this extra shit, so I wasn’t in the mood to put it together.” The Bronx-bred MC tried to clear “I’m Tight” and “Two Times,” but excessive mixing discouraged him from releasing the project, as did the album getting leaked.
Though MC4 won’t be released, fans shouldn’t worry about when new French Montana music will next surface. Montana has already began production on a new project he says is “70 percent done,” and even hints a forthcoming project with the “Wave God” Max B, saying “I might throw something out with me and him this week or next week.”
