Foxy Brown wants it to be known: she is not endorsing Donald Trump. But she does have “profound respect” for Hillary Clinton and “admiration” for Bernie Sanders.
The rapper shared a message on Instagram in which she snuffed out a report published in the New York Daily News which suggested she was a fan of Trump and that her next release could be a tribute to the Republican candidate. Brown wrote, “I am in no way endorsing Trump” and said her words had been misconstrued. “What I said verbatim was Trump had tenacity, much like I said Hillary Clinton I love dearly and Bernie Sanders I absolutely adore.”

Brown, who votes Democrat and had been trending on Twitter after the report went online, had a dig at the media, which “per usual…sensationalizes everything,” she wrote.
The original report quoted Brown (born Inga Marchand) as having this to say on Trump: “No matter how many people sabotage his campaign, it keeps growing and growing and growing.” And, “I know so many people won’t agree with me and will try to change my mind, but I’m a smart girl. I’m excited…I haven’t been this excited in so long. I know people say he’s a racist, but that’s just crazy.”

Brown also gave a shout out to Brooklyn Borough president Eric Adams, who earlier awarded the artist the “key to the city,” a “historic honor” in her words. The disputed article, however, didn’t go deep into Brown’s plans to record a follow-up album to 2001’s Broken Silence.
