FKA Twigs long-awaited sophomore album is finally here. MAGDALENE hit streaming services on Friday (Nov. 8) with nine tracks in total, which includes previously released singles “cellophane,” “home with you,” “sad day,” and the Future-assisted “holy terrain.”
It’s been an enduring journey for Twigs since bursting onto the scene with 2014’s LP1. The 31-year-old detailed the ups and downs she’s experienced in an interview with Zane Lowe on Beats 1, which saw her touch on the obstacles of dealing with health issues and heartbreak.
“It was scary because I think I’d never written from, well I’ve always written from a really honest place, but an honest place at 22 or 23 with your life experience is different to an honest place,” Twigs said of her creative process. “Then years on when you’ve experienced responsibility and heartbreak and a kind of glimpse of real adulthood, It became not easier in process, but just kind of like easier in the acceptance of myself to be able to put that on the table.”
