Fetty Wap, T.I., Young Thug, Rick Ross, Ty Dolla $ign, Bun B. and Metro Boomin will launch the first annual Outta This World concert on Aug. 18 at the Toyota Center in Houston. The inaugural event, expected to draw 15,000, is being coordinated by UIG Entertainment and John Monopoly Presents.
“Houston is at the forefront of art and culture,” says native son Bun B. “It’s time for a festival that reflects that.”
UIG (United Imperial Group) is a music management, promotion and production company headed by CEO Derek Muhammad and president Jeremy Muhammad. Monopoly Presents is helmed by John “Monopoly” Johnson. Johnson, who managed Kanye West early in the rapper’s career, is also a promoter who has produced events for Sean “Diddy” Combs, Jay Z and Prince, among others.
“I’m excited to partner with UIG for the highly anticipated Outta This World concert,” says Johnson. “Producing the largest independent hip-hop festival to take place in Houston is an honor. We’re looking forward to presenting these globally renowned acts, many of whom are sharing the bill for the first time.”
