In January, Fetty Wap unveiled the final installment in his three-part For My Fans series and now, the rapper is back on the grind. On Thursday (March 8), Fetty rolled out his own late-night bedroom remix of SZA‘s “The Weekend.”
Wap’s rendition of “The Weekend” is as sultry as the original, as the he sings about “creeping” on the weekends with his woman. “You make it so good I can’t leave you/ When you tell me it’s mine, I believe you/ I don’t need no stories, we both leave in the morning/ We only in love on the weekend,” he croons in his signature Auto-Tuned voice.
Fetty recently teamed up with 6ix9ine and A Boogie Wit Da Hoodie for “Keke” off 6ix9ine’s debut mixtape Day26. On the solo tip, the New Jersey native released a dedication track for his rumored girlfriend, model Kisswowie, last February.
In a new interview with CR Fashion Book, Fetty opened up about resorting to violence as a result of being bullied for his appearance, though his attitude changed once he welcomed his firstborn into the world.
“I always try to tell people: If you don’t got no love for yourself, you’re not going to get nowhere in life,” he said. “You’re going to be stuck where you’re at forever, because you’re going to be searching for something that really you got to bring out. You can’t find something that’s not already there.”
