Ahead of his debut album’s release, Famous Dex unveiled the official video for his A$AP Rocky-assisted collab “Pick It Up,” in which the two fashion lovers hit up a local flea market to get new threads.
The dizzying visual is directed by Rocky’s AWGE creative agency and opens with Dex and a few women counting cash in a dimly lit office. The rapper then makes his way to the flea market to scope out the products being offered, including T-shirts and bags, and later meets up with a pink-fur-clad Rocky in the office where Rocky delivers his verse.
“Jacob my wrist, nothing was fake on my wrist/ Four-finger ring on my hand/ Say what you say to my wrist, talk to the hand/ Don’t wanna resort to the hands,” Rocky raps over the hypnotic, uptempo beat before predicting that his long-awaited album “might go platinum first week.”
Dex and Rocky both have albums on the horizon, though no official release date has been set for their projects. Dex teased that his debut album Dex Meets Dexter would be released back in June, but it has yet to materialize. Rocky, on the other hand, revealed that on his new album, he’ll be “testing new sounds. People are scared to test new sounds, so they go with what’s current, ’cause it’s the easy thing to do. I don’t just rap — I actually make music. That’s why it takes time. These sonics represent me.”
