Drake makes his grand entrance into the liquor business with the arrival of his Virginia Black whiskey. The smooth new libation comes from the 6 God as well as esteemed spirits maker Brent Hocking.
Though no release date has been announced, the timing looks to be lining up nicely with the upcoming release of Drake’s fourth studio album, Views From the 6, which is due out April 29. Hocking is well known as the force behind the luxury spirit DeLeon Tequila, which was acquired by Diddy as a joint venture with Diageo in 2014.
The duo’s mission statement for bringing the decadent American whiskey to the masses is simple: “We believe everyone should have access to glamour, swagger and soul,” the Virginia Black founders say in a joint statement sent to Billboard. “Virginia Black grants them that access, allowing people to embody the lifestyle always, not just on special occasions.”
Toast to decadence and Drizzy’s new venture with an extended look at Virginia Black below.
