It looks like music runs in the family when it comes to Puma, Erykah Badu’s daughter with rapper The D.O.C. Badu captured a black-and-white clip of her daughter singing Sunday (Dec. 18) via Instagram.
The young vocalist covered Rihanna’s 2012 hit “Stay,” receiving over 100,000 likes and 2,000 comments as of press time.
The soulful cover finds Puma, 12, gracefully swinging in a circle while holding the microphone, captivating viewers with her musical ability.
Super-producer Swizz Beatz even commented on Badu’s post suggesting that Puma and his son Egypt (who apparently produced for Kendrick Lamar) should collaborate. “@erykahbadu she need to let Egypt prod a track ASAP,” he wrote.
Meanwhile, Puma’s mom is gearing up for Soulquarius 2017, a new R&B music festival set to kick off early next year.
