ELHAE is currently gearing up for the release of his anticipated Trouble in Paradise album coming up later this month (Feb. 22). The 25-year-old kicks off the project’s rollout by heading to somewhere that resembles paradise in Havana for the quaint “Hennessy” visual. The effort’s lead single hit streaming services overnight Friday (Feb. 8), with the video premiering via Billboard.
ELHAE tells the story of a conflicted lover, but made sure to display the natural beauty that comes along with a trip to Cuba, which is seamlessly weaved into the tropical track. The burgeoning crooner teamed up with a pair of music veterans to assist in fine-tuning the song to perfection.
“This record takes place in the very beginning of the album, and really sets the tone for what’s in store for the rest of Trouble in Paradise,” the Georgia-bred artist tells Billboard. “I felt Havana was a great place to capture my vision. Everyone from the locals to the scenery was a perfect way to capture what Hennessy sounds like to me.”
“I worked on this record alongside Rico Love and Danja in Miami,” the Atlantic signee explains of his collaborators lending their genius to the track. “After having a brief discussion about where I was going with this album they accurately conveyed what I wanted to say and how I wanted this song to sound.”
