
El-P was born in Brooklyn and has more or less resided in New York City ever since. Even when he’s rapping about drones over his hometown, he’s been content to take the good with the bad and stick around. But it looks like Taylor Swift’s latest 1989 offering, “Welcome to New York,” is enough to make him reconsider.

El was apparently inundated with tweets from angry Taylor fans (and supporters), making his Twitter feed a circus for most of Monday.

Once he’s out of the woods, El-P will release the second album with Killer Mike as Run the Jewels on Oct. 27.
Maybe he could find some common ground with Taylor over cats. Run the Jewels’ new album will be remixed using only cat noises by producers like Just Blaze and Alchemist since the duo recently reached a Kickstarter goal.
