There appears to be room in the “6” for both Drake and Tory Lanez after all. On Thursday night (May 18), fans of the two artists were left dumbfounded when images of Lanez and Drake standing alongside each other were posted to both artist’s social media accounts, dismissing any rumors of the tandem’s ongoing beef.
“The city needs more of this and less of that,” Drake captioned the photo of him and the “LUV” rapper, while Lanez wrote “Toronto… I Told You” on his respective post. The two rappers previously fired off subliminal shots at one another. During his Summer Sixteen pit stop in Austin, Texas, back in June 2016, Drake switched up the Summer Sixteen lyric, “All you boys in the new Toronto want to be me a little” to “All you boys with a fake ‘Controlla’ wanna be me a little”, a dig many perceived was aimed at fellow Toronto rapper Lanez, who released his own remix to Drake’s “Controlla.”

Tory Lanez responded during an interview with Ebro in the Morning saying, “There’s never been a personal problem because I don’t know that man,” adding that there might be tension between the two artists because “we can’t share first place, and I’m the only guy that’s bold enough to come and really take that right now.”
Both artists have had their fare share of success as of late. Tory Lanez’ debut album I Told You peaked at No. 4 on the Billboard 200 and with the single “LUV” earning the rapper his first Grammy nomination. Drake recently released his playlist-album More Life, which hit No. 1 on the Billboard 200.
