Even though Drake released his More Life project last March, fans are already asking for new music.
On Monday (July 17), Drake shared a photo on Instagram, which was eerily similar to his 2011 album cover Take Care. Donning a black and gold sweat-suit, the 6 God was pictured sitting at the table in the same stance as his cover art from his sophomore project. The sheer sight of his remixed photo caused die-hard fans to believe that he’s working on the album’s sequel.
“Take Care 2 don’t make us feel that way again champagnepapi,” wrote one Instagram user. “Take Care 2. The people need it,” said another. Fans also alluded to the fact that the same boisterous curls that Drake rocked during the Take Care era — are making a comeback. “Drizzy got the curls back and just posted this, Take Care 2 incoming,” wrote a fan on Twitter.
Released in 2011, Take Care spawned several top 10 hits on the Billboard Hot 100. First, his ode to ambitious women “Make Me Proud” peaked at No. 9, while his duet with Rihanna on “Take Care” bowed at No. 7.
Amidst tantalizing fans with the prospect of Take Care 2, Drake posted a picture of his royalty check for Degrassi. Though the check was only for $8.25, Drizzy found a way to make a joke about it. “Degrassi money still coming in don’t sleeeeeeeep,” he quipped.
Take a look at some of the photos Drizzy posted last night, as well as the fans’ reactions below.
