Drake may spend a lot of time atop charts and other rankings (he was recently named No. 5 on the Forbes Five: Richest in Hip Hop List) but despite his accolades, the Canadian rapper doesn’t stray too far from his roots. Drake recently dipped back into the acting pool, making an appearance in a new YouTube comedy sketch created by YouTube duo 4YallEntertainment.
If the 4YallEntertainment sketch sounds familiar, it’s because Drake sampled the Toronto-based duo in the final seconds of “Madiba Rhythm” from Drake’s latest effort More Life. In the sketch, Drake sits down with YouTube comedians Trey and Jae Richards and begins reminiscing about the first “T-Dot Goon Scrap” DVD he received from his “brethren”.
Speaking with a mixture of Caribbean patois and Toronto slang, subtitles appear at the bottom of the screen, hilariously translating Drake’s speech to English. It’s all fun and games until Drake rates the “T-Dot Goon Scrap” DVD a mere “tree out of ten for sure”, causing an argument to erupt between the trio. Celebrated producer Boi-1da also makes a cameo in the parody.
