Popular Twitch streamer and Internet personality Tyler “Ninja” Blevins played more Fortnite on his personal Twitch channel with Drake on Tuesday evening (Apr. 10) — and Drake gave him $5,000 for winning.
This is the third time the duo have paired up in the battle royale shooter, following a notable stream last month with NFL player JuJu Smith-Schuster and rapper Travis Scott that broke the record for most widely viewed live stream on Twitch, with more than 600,000 streams.
According to The Verge, Drake (or TheBoyDuddus, as per his PlayStation 4 handle!) appeared to be playing from his recording studio in London, wherein he complained about potential latency issues from his EU connection. At one point, Drake pledged $5,000 to Ninja’s stream if he won, which Ninja did in spades, racking up 16 kills. Drake then followed through and asked for information on how to donate, saying he was a “man of his word.”
Interestingly, earlier in the stream, Ninja asked Drake when he was going to slip some references to the popular shoot-’em-up into new lyrics — to which Drake replied he would, if Epic included the “Hotline Bling” dance as a purchasable emote. Well, we’re waiting.
