Even famous rappers can be fanboys. Just look at Drake, who often pays tribute to his favorite artists through tattoos.
The More Life rapper already has ink related to his inspirations Sade and Aaliyah, as well as a shark in honor of his old pal Rihanna. And based on a photo Drizzy posted on Instagram late last night (July 24), his newest ink appears to be a portrait of Lil Wayne. In the new photo, a face tattooed on Drake’s left arm next to tats of a skull and a bottle of Drakkar Noir cologne looks eerily similar to Weezy.
Though it’s hard to confirm whether the resemblance is intentional, it wouldn’t be too much of a stretch for Drake’s latest tattoo to pay homage to the Sorry 4 The Wait rapper. After all, it was Lil Wayne himself who signed Drake to his Young Money Records back in 2009, and the two have since collaborated on a number of tracks including 2012’s “The Motto,” one of Drake’s most famous hits. Add to this the fact that Drake Instagrammed a photo of Lil Wayne with the caption “King” just a few days ago, and we’ve got a pretty solid case.
