On Friday, mayhem ensued after Drake launched an attack against Pusha T and Kanye West on his scathing diss record “Duppy Freestyle.” The record was created in response to the haymakers Pusha dished out on his new album Daytona. Despite the heavy friction between both parties, according to Hot 97’s Ebro Darden, prior to the feud, Drake allegedly asked Kanye to be featured on his chart-topping single “Nice for What.”
During Tuesday’s (May 29) episode of Ebro in the Morning, Darden said sources revealed to him that Drake originally enlisted Kanye for a guest slot on his Murda Beatz-produced record. “Supposedly, Kanye was supposed to be on ‘Nice for What,’ or there’s a version of ‘Nice for What’ with Kanye that we may never hear,” said Darden during the 11:12 mark of the segment.

The rumored collaboration between Drake and Kanye wouldn’t be considered too far-fetched since they have joined forces before on numerous occasions, most recently on “Glow” from Drizzy’s 2017 effort, More Life. But on “Duppy Freestyle,” Drake questioned West’s merits as a lyricist and took credit for penning “Father Stretch My Hands, Pt 1.”
“So if you rebuke me for workin’ with someone else on a couple of Vs/ What do you really think of the n—a that’s makin’ your beats?/ I’ve done things for him I thought that he never would need/ Father had to stretch his hands out and get it from me/ I pop style for 30 hours, then let him repeat/ Now, you poppin’ up with the jokes, I’m dead, I’m asleep,” Drake rapped.
