Drake‘s If You’re Ready This It’s Too Late — a surprise mixtape initially released digitally Feb. 12 — is now coming to stores. A collector’s edition of the project will arrive at physical retailers April 21, the rapper announced Monday (April 13).
Since its February release, the set has sold over 774,000 copies — including a debut week of 495,000 album sales that helped the set debut at No. 1 on the Billboard 200, making Drake the first rapper to reach No. 1 on Billboard’s nearly year-old Artist 100 chart.
If You’re Reading This… has also been streamed more than 140 million times on Spotify, and briefly held the record for most single-day Spotify streams (6.8 million) until Kendrick Lamar topped it a month later with 9.8 million streams. “Jungle,” a short film accompanying the mixtape, has been viewed more than 3.2 million times on YouTube since its Feb. 12 release date.
Drake Brings OVO Pop-Up Shop to L.A.
If You’re Reading This… precedes the release of Drake’s official fourth album, Views From The 6, expected later this year. The album has no official release date yet, but will most likely coincide sometime around or after Drake’s annual OVO Festival in Toronto, which will be held Aug. 2 and 3 at the Molson Amphitheatre. Previously announced performers include Drake, J. Cole, Big Sean, Jeremih , YG , Bas, Cozz and Omen.
In other Drake news, the rapper’s OVO brand recently teamed with hometown NBA team the Toronto Raptors and Michael & Ness for a limited-edition line of apparel, including hoodies, jerseys, hates and sweatshirts in OVO’s black and gold colors. The collection debuted March 27 at Raptors.com/OVO and at Real Sports at Toronto’s Air Canada Centre. An L.A. pop-up shop is also open on S. La Brea Ave through April 30.
