Presented by Brooklyn Bodega, the Brooklyn Hip-Hop Festival will be packed with events during its six-day run. From July 10-16, hip-hop aficionados will soak in knowledge through panel discussions, witness live dance and DJ battles, and, of course, catch performances from rap veterans.
On July 10, Rakim will take part in the Told It First Hand series at the Brooklyn Historical Society. Wes Jackson, founder of the Brooklyn Hip-Hop Festival, will sit down with the revered MC to discuss his legacy in rap.
On July 14, J. Cole‘s Dreamville label will host a showcase featuring Bas, Cozz and Omen at St. Ann’s Warehouse in Dumbo. On the following day, DMX will headline the festival’s finale concert, which follows his recent performance at the Ruff Ryders reunion stint. The LOX will also join their Ruff Ryder cohort at the Brooklyn Bridge Park. On the DJ front, festivalgoers can expect epic sets on the turntables orchestrated by the legendary duo Stretch and Bobbito plus Mister Cee.
Last year, Nas, Fabolous, Talib Kweli and Rapsody performed at the Brooklyn Hip-Hop Festival.
