After sitting beside the real-life version of Mufasa on the cover of his last album Major Key, it’s only right that DJ Khaled brings Simba and his own son, Asahd, together for the artwork of his upcoming 10th studio album Grateful. Fun fact: Asahd’s name also means “lion” in Arabic.
If you’ve been living under the proverbial rock or dodging social media, Khaled’s album has an insane amount of A-list features from Beyoncé, Jay Z, Rihanna, Nicki Minaj, Future, Nas, Drake and many, many more.
The lavishly living 7-month-old has also become the We the Best MVP as both the executive producer of Grateful and the star of every piece of single artwork, including “Shining,” “I’m the One” and “To the Max.”
Grateful — which will also be a double CD — arrives June 23.
