After taking a joyride to the top of the Billboard Hot 100 with his car-inspired banger “Panda,” Desiigner is looking to potentially bag his first Grammy.
“I always seen myself as being an artist like being able to create things and put things out there for people to enjoy and people to watch. It’s always me. I love it,” he says in his “For Your Consideration” video.
The G.O.O.D. Music MC’s chart-topping smash is nominated for best rap performance. For Billboard‘s No. 1s issue last December, the Brooklyn rep spoke about his inspiration for “Panda.” “I put everything I see — a movie, Grand Theft Auto — in my music, so when I made ‘Panda,’ it was crazy. I get possessed. I know I’m saying words; it’s just like you’re tapped into my world. That’s my job as an artist: to show you and make you understand,” he said.
The energetic lyricist also shows his devotion to his craft, adding in the clip, “I’m creativity. I’m music. I’m the community.”
