“‘Who Am I’ is a song of reflection. Me asking myself ‘Who am I?’ ‘Who are you?’,” Dej tells Billboard. “The idea originally sparked from me and my daily bath taking ritual. I often meditate by running a hot bubble bath, lighting candles and sage, and playing music. [My team and I] thought to ourselves, ‘That could be dope, just make it a natural moment.’ Me in the bath tub in deep thought.”

With an influx of new music, the Detroit rep also reveals that she’s prepping her debut album. “I’m working towards being one of the greatest,” she said. “I will put out my debut album this fall — an album I feel and know is gonna be #1.
