Following the death of Nipsey Hussle over the weekend, close friend and frequent collaborator Dave East hosted a candlelight vigil in NYC to honor the rapper Monday night. The lyrical duo had previously linked up on numerous occasions, connecting on tracks such as 2016’s “Clarity.”
The peaceful gathering took place in Lower Manhattan, which found East prompting those in attendance to light the area up with cellphones and candelight, as they let a few balloons rise into the sky for Nipsey. “Have One Rolled When I See U Cuz. Till Next Time NAYBAHOOD NIP,” the Harlem native wrote in a series of posts. “Nip Woulda Did The Same Shit For Me. Love U Cuzzy on ROLLIN.”
The LAPD has apprehended the main suspect in Hussle’s murder. Eric Holder was captured in Bellflower, Calif., on Tuesday afternoon (April 2).
