Daniel Caesar rose to fame as one of music’s promising upstarts following the release of his critically-acclaimed record Freudian. On Tuesday night (Nov. 21), Caesar delivered a soulful rendition of his Freudian hit single, “Get You” for his inaugural performance on Late Night with Seth Meyers.
Under hazy blue and violet lights, the Canadian singer grabbed the mic and unleashed his lush, honeyed vocals over the soulful melody crafted by the live studio band in the shadows. Over the jazz-tinged arrangement, Caesar croons about being so enamored by his significant other. “Kingdoms have fallen, angels be calling/ None of that could ever make me leave,” he sings. “Every time I look into your eyes I see it/ You’re all I need.”
Sans Kali Uchis, Caesar continued to serenade the studio audience with the slow-burner as his voice often switched from a sweeping, delicate warble to a rich, impassioned croon.
Caesar is currently on his North American tour, making stops all throughout Canada until the end of December before heading overseas to Germany, Sweden, France and more.
