On Saturday (June 3) at the 16th annual Chrysalis Butterfly Ball, Common accepted the Spirit of Chrysalis Award — but won the ultimate award of the evening, when he got the opportunity to serenade Halle Berry on stage.
At the fundraising benefit for low-income individuals and the homeless, he ended the night with a performance. During the rapper’s set, Halle Berry was lucky enough to be invited on stage for a front-row seat to her own freestyle show. The rapper spit several verses to the Oscar-winning actress, who looked humbled as he rapped, “Maybe me and Halle, yo, we can get married.”
