After TMZ reported that Chris Brown is getting his own Las Vegas residency, Billboard can confirm that the R&B singer does have a deal with Vegas’ Drai’s Beachclub & Nightclub — although according to a rep for Brown, “the specifics being reported are incorrect. Correct details will be revealed soon.”
Chris Brown May Not Be Allowed in Australia, Government Warns
Brown’s first confirmed show at Drai is Oct. 3, according to Drai’s website.
Brown recently finished his One Hell of a Nite summer tour of the 25 U.S. cities, which launched Aug. 12 at the Sprint Center in Kansas City, Mo., and wrapped Sept. 19 in California. Support acts included Kid Ink, Omarion, Fetty Wap and Teyana Taylor.
Las Vegas has proven to be a lucrative territory for artist residencies. Current long-term stints in Sin City include everyone from Britney Spears and Jennifer Lopez to Lionel Richie and Celine Dion — not to mention numerous EDM nightclub booking deals.
In other Chris Brown news, the singer is looking at the possibility of being banned from Australia. On Sunday (Sept. 27), government officials formally warned Brown that he’s likely to be denied a visa because of his criminal conviction for assaulting Rihanna, the Associated Press reports.
