As the release of Chris Brown‘s X (Sept. 16) approaches, a new song surfaces, titled, “Autumn Leaves.” The X collaboration with Kendrick Lamar is featured on MissInfo.tv, Nah Right, 2DopeBoyz and other sites.
On the slow-tempo track, the singer-songwriter opens up about his struggle with moving on from a seemingly tumultuous relationship.

“I’ve been bleeding in your silence/ I feel safer in your violence/ I hold on like leaves in fall, to what is left/ Before I sleep, I talk to God/ He must be mad with me/ He’s coming,” he croons, before transitioning into the hook: “It seems like all the autumn leaves have fallen/ I feel like you’re the only reason for it/ All the things you do.”
The Compton, Calif., rapper comes in close to the end of the track with rhymes of resilience: “When you make mistakes the most/ One day it’ll make you grow/ When you’re outlandish and you lose manners/ To God you will consult.”
