Chris Brown‘s lawyer, Mark Geragos, believes his accuser “fabricated” the gun threat, the Los Angeles Times reported.
According to Geragos, the singer has “fully cooperated” with police during the investigation. “It has become apparent that the allegations are not just false but fabricated,” he added. (Geragos has not immediately responded to Billboard‘s requests for comment).

The accuser, a former beauty pageant contestant and aspiring actress named Baylee Curan, also told the Times that Brown allegedly pulled a gun on her after she was admiring a necklace during a party at his residence. The lawyer reportedly said that there was no jewelry or gun found by the LAPD while searching Brown’s home.
The robbery-homicide division took over the case, which began with a call from a woman seeking assistance from Brown’s residence around 3 a.m. on Tuesday. When officers showed up at his $4.3 million home, they were denied entry and told to obtain a search warrant, causing an hours-long standoff at the singer’s home that was broadcast live on several news outlets. Brown also took to Instagram to claim his innocence.
“When I call the police for dangerous people that are stalking my life, they don’t come till the next day,” he said in one clip. “Let somebody make a f–ked up allegation about me and oh yeah, the whole f–king SWAT team. My n—a. I’m innocent. I’m tired of this shit.”

Police are continuing their investigation and have seized evidence from Brown’s home, including security camera footage. The singer recently released a new track called “What Would You Do?” where he sings on top of a bouncy beat, “What do you do, fighting for your life when no one’s on your side?”
