On the heels of his Dedication mixtape release, Chief Keef sat down for a rare interview with Snoop Dogg on his GGN News Network. The conversation jumped through a multitude of topics as the pair chopped it up under the influence. Throughout the 18-minute conversation, the hip-hop superstars touched on Kanye West, the city of Chicago, favorite albums and drill music.
Snoop pressed Keef about Yeezy’s stamp of approval on “Don’t Like,” the remix for which appeared on Cruel Summer featuring hip-hop heavyweights Pusha T, Big Sean and Jadakiss. The “Love Sosa” artist responded, “I didn’t think it was true. I don’t really remember, but somebody said I was tripping though.”
Even though he just released a 45-minute project, Keef said he’s got “desktops on desktops” of new material, “like four or five Macbooks, three of them in Chicago.” The Long Beach native made sure to drive home the point of whatever Sosa chooses to release in the future will be what he wants to do, regardless of label contract obligations.
The Chi-Town rapper linked up with frequent collaborator Young Chop for another collaboration titled “Ice Cream” and divulged that the “song is crazy,” but is still without a release date. The pair then delved into their love of smoking and devouring various flavors.
When asked about his top three projects to listen to if the 22-year-old was stranded on an island, Keef took a long pause before answering with Lil Wayne’s Tha Carter and Dedication 3 in addition to his self-made Finally Rich. Check out the relaxed conversation in its entirety below.
