Chance the Rapper gave fans another taste of what to expect from his long-awaited debut album through a touching video montage dedicated to his wife and soundtracked by new music.
The Chicago native posted a heartfelt video on social media Thursday (July 4) showing special moments that he’s shared with his wife, Kirsten Corley. The couple, who share a daughter, married in March.
“Oh my God, think it’s the greatest day of my life/ So glad you arrived/ But the only way to survive is to go crazy,” Chance sings over a beautiful sparse melody.
The hip-hop star revealed in February that new music was on the way, hinting at a July release for his first, fully-fledged album release. Additional details on the release have yet to be announced, though “Groceries,” which dropped in May, will likely appear on the release.
Chance announced his arrival in 2012 with the 10 Day, followed a year later by the well-received Acid Rap. Both releases are now available on streaming platforms.
